Order of the Ancient
I’ve recently finished reading one of the best books ever written for children to help introduce them to the Redeemer, the Ancient of Days. Order of the Ancient by Karl Bastian is set in the not so distant future where there is One Government, One Religion, and One Grand Deception. But there is One Boy who will not give up until he finds the Truth. Discouraged from asking questions, eleven year old Brent Camden finally meets a mysterious group of people who look, talk, dress, and act differently than everyone else. They are willing to answer the questions nobody else will. Written in a non-threatening style at about a 4th-5th grade level, Bastian does not hide the Truth from his young readers. Unlike J.R.R. Tolkien, Wayne Thomas Batson, or even C.S. Lewis, Bastian makes the Truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ very plain for kids and adults alike. There is no ambiguity or allegory for kids to have to wonder about. The Ancient of Days and his more recognizable name remains a mystery through most of the book, but at just the right moment Bastian introduces the reader to the name that is above all names, the King of kings, and Lord of lords…JESUS!Order of the Ancient is a good read for kids and will even challenge the faith practices of many adults. Visit www.orderoftheancient.com for more information or to order this book. It’s definitely worth a good read.
